In appointment-based businesses, revenue leaks through the gaps: bookings in a notebook or a separate app, invoices written later, and payments nobody reconciles. Connecting booking to Odoo closes those gaps.
Two ways to take bookings
Odoo includes an Appointments app that lets customers book from your website based on staff, room or equipment availability, and it suits many cases. When you need a custom booking experience, such as several services in one visit or complex branch rules, a separate booking system is built and connected to Odoo.
The full flow once connected
- The customer books from the site or app, choosing branch, service, staff member and time.
- Confirmation and reminders go out by WhatsApp or SMS, so fewer appointments are missed.
- On arrival, the visit becomes a sales order or invoice for the services actually delivered.
- Payment is recorded, either upfront at booking or at the point of sale after the service.
- Consumables are deducted from stock where relevant.
- Occupancy and revenue reports appear per branch and per staff member.
Decisions before building
- What is being booked: a person, a room, a device, or a mix?
- Do you take a deposit or upfront payment, and what is the cancellation policy?
- How are appointments managed across branches with different hours?
- Does the customer need an account, or is a mobile number enough?
A common mistake
What most often fails in booking systems isn't the technology, it's inaccurate availability: a staff member on leave that nobody recorded, or a service that really takes longer than the system says. Set service durations and staff schedules first, then open booking to customers.
At MUNSAQ we build the booking experience and connect it to invoicing, stock and point of sale in Odoo, so every appointment becomes recorded revenue.
