Choosing the implementation company matters more than choosing the system. Odoo is the same for everyone; the difference lies in how well your processes are understood, the quality of the data migration, the training, and what happens after go-live.
Check their status first
Odoo publishes an official list of its certified partners on its website. If a company says it is an "official partner", check that list yourself. Not being a partner doesn't necessarily mean a company is unqualified, but it should say so clearly. At MUNSAQ we implement Odoo and are not an official Odoo partner, and we say so on our site.
Questions about understanding
- Did they ask to see your actual processes before quoting, or send a standard proposal?
- Can they explain how the order-to-cash cycle will work in your company specifically?
- Did they ask about stock, branches and tax, or only about the number of users?
Questions about delivery
- Who will actually work on your project, and can you meet them before signing?
- How many data-migration rehearsals happen before go-live, and who reconciles the balances?
- How are change requests handled during the project, and who approves them?
- Is e-invoicing tested on ZATCA's sandbox as part of the scope?
Questions about customization
Every custom module is re-tested and updated at each Odoo upgrade. A good company starts from standard configuration and only codes what can't be achieved otherwise. Ask: how much customization do you expect in our project, and why? And who owns the code after handover?
Questions about after go-live
- How long is hypercare after go-live, and what does it cover?
- How are requests raised, and what response time is agreed?
- Will you receive documentation of the configuration, so you don't depend on one person?
Warning signs
- Promises of a very short go-live before any analysis of your processes.
- A proposal that doesn't separate the Odoo subscription from implementation fees.
- Case studies or client logos that can't be verified.
- No KPIs to measure the project's success after go-live.
The right company won't mind these questions; it will expect them. If you'd like to put them to us, the free discovery call is a good place to do it.
